2025 STAFF DATES

May 28, 2025 - July 18, 2025

Every year from late May through July, our camp season, an amazing group of college and university students join us as volunteers at Camp BlueSky, a unique adventure camp in Nairobi, Kenya, for 7 to 18-year-olds.

BlueSky campers represent dozens of nationalities and many backgrounds. Some have grown up in the church while others are from various faith backgrounds. Throughout five sessions of camp, the Camp BlueSky team usually serves over 500 campers, with an average of 120 campers each week!

Our counselors and program aides are an integral part of the ministry of Camp BlueSky - whether it's by teaching a craft, cheering campers up the rock wall, performing a crazy skit, sharing during devotion times, or simply being an older friend in whom to confide. Throughout it all, our team has the opportunity to meet campers where they are - spiritually, emotionally, and relationally -

and point them to Jesus through word and deed.

Adventure is Calling!

Our goal for each team member is that they grow in servant leadership, cultural humility, and faith in order to become active and healthy members of the Global Church.

When camp is not in session during the camp season, Camp BlueSky volunteers are invited to engage in other kinds of adventures and learning opportunities, including:

  • Team training, debrief and rest.

  • Exploring some of the outdoor adventures Kenya has to offer through activities like rock climbing and camping.

  • Observing and learning about other ministries in the Nairobi area according to staff members' interests.

Whether team members have grown up in Nairobi or it is their first time outside their home country, these weeks give our volunteers an opportunity to grow as a team and expand their vision of what it looks like to be a part of Christ's Kingdom work.  The camp season as a whole provides an excellent introduction to cross-cultural ministry as our team members interact with many nationalities (both on their own team and among their campers) and multiple types of ministry.
