Overview:

The vision of BlueSky Global Ministries exists to see the multinational community in Nairobi, Kenya, spiritually transformed and equipped to influence the world for God’s glory. Camp BlueSky’s mission is to be a place for kids to grow spiritually, have fun, and build healthy relationships. 

The Spiritual Life Coordinator (SLC) serves on the Camp BlueSky seasonal team as a member of the Leadership Team. They help develop the season’s theme and Biblical curriculum and provide on-site spiritual care for campers and staff. This position reports directly to the Camp  Director.

Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside the Camp Director and Program Manager to create Christ-centered & biblically sound spiritual development programs , camp-wide devotionals/messages and reflection questions

  • Works in collaboration with the Worship leader in planning the worship service each evening of camp that includes delivering a cross-culturally relevant message to campers and staff. 

  • Work alongside the Camp Care coordinator and the Camp Mom to provide encouragement and care to summer staff and campers.

  • Train and encourage other staff members in speaking opportunities. This includes training counselors in sharing their testimonies, cabin devotionals, and additional opportunities that camp provides. 

  • Assist with staff training/orientation and debrief.

  • Qualifications:

  • A self-professing Christ follower, actively involved in a Christian faith community and actively pursuing Christ on a consistent basis.

  • Heart for the nations with proven spiritual leadership experience.

  • Passion for adventure and the outdoors, along with a deep commitment to Christian faith and value

  • You must be aged 19 years and above.

  • Must have a genuine interest in promoting a positive, safe, and fun environment for children.

  • Profound knowledge and understanding of the Christian Faith

  • A deep personal spirituality and commitment to their own spiritual journey.

  • Excellent communication skills to effectively convey spiritual and emotional support, offer counseling, and facilitate meaningful conversations.

  • Sensitivity and competence in serving individuals from diverse cultural, religious, and spiritual backgrounds.

  • Ability to provide emotional and spiritual support during times of crisis, illness, grief, or other difficult life situations.

  • Willingness to commit for at least 3 weeks (1 staff training week and 2 Camp sessions)
