Overview:

The Nurse role will be to care and ensure the overall health and well being of campers and staff members through their time at Camp. Work in Collaboration with the Camp Care Coordinator and Camp Mom to care and respond to medical emergencies  as campers and staff  engage in;- fun activities, adventurous challenges, and spiritually rich community. 

The Nurse will serve under the leadership of Full-time and Seasonal BlueSky staff who are experienced, professional, and faithfully following Jesus in their lives. It is an opportunity for them to grow in their personal faith, strengthen character through serving others, develop leadership and professional skills, and build positive friendships.


Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and record medical reports,medication for campers on arrival on opening day.

  • Able to identify special needs children and dietary concerns for campers.

  • Administer medications to campers according to prescribed schedules and dosage.

  • Provide first aid and care incase of injuries,minor illnesses that may occur during camp activities

  • Assess and provide medical treatment for minor injuries and illness as per the camp.

  • Document and maintain accurate medical records of all health related incidents during camp.

  • Consult with Brackenhurst doctor for any medical emergencies.

  • Communicate with the leadership on any health related  concerns or incidences at camp.

  • Promote the health and well being of campers and staff throughout camp.

  • Qualifications:

  • A self-professing Christ follower, actively involved in a Christian faith community and actively pursuing Christ on a consistent basis.

  • Heart for the nations with proven spiritual leadership experience.

  • Passion for adventure and the outdoors, along with a deep commitment to Christian faith and values

  • You must be aged 19 years and above.

  • Must have a genuine interest in promoting a positive, safe, and fun environment for children is vital.

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills . 

  • Should be culturally competent and able to work with campers and staffers from diverse backgrounds.

  • Given the nature of many camp programs, being physically fit is a crucial requirement.

  • A minimum of a nursing diploma is required.

  • Experience in emergency care and community health could be an advantage.

  • Trained or competent in medication administration practices.

  • Willingness to commit for at least 3 weeks (1 staff training week and 2 Camp sessions)
