What is D-Now?

Hi there! I’m Claire, the Assistant Student Ministry Coordinator here at BlueSky Kenya, and I’m so excited to tell you all about D-Now! This weekend has such a special place in my heart, and I’ve had the privilege of being part of it for five years now. There’s something truly special about

this weekend that brings students together and helps them experience God in such a personal and powerful way. D-Now has come such a long way since it first began. Back then, it was an in-home event, with host families opening up their homes for the weekend. We had about 50 students spread across two weekends, one in Karen and another in Gigiri. It was intimate, personal, and laid the foundation for what D-Now would become. As more and more students started joining, we knew we needed a bigger space to accommodate everyone. That’s when we moved to Brackenhurst and combined everything into one incredible weekend. Now, we welcome over 140 students from all different schools and backgrounds, and it’s amazing to see how it’s grown into the event of the year!

From 28th February to 2nd March, we’ll have a weekend full of high-energy games, exciting adventures, and powerful moments of worship and connection. The theme this year is Full Send, and it’s all about going all in for God. Being bold, courageous, and stepping fully into the life

he’s calling us to live. We’ve got four powerful sessions lined up with Pastor Christian Lwanda, who is an incredible speaker and has a real gift for making God’s Word come alive. Each session will include worship, fun games, and a message that challenges and inspires students to take their

faith to the next level. But D-Now is so much more than just the sessions. It’s about late-night chats in the cabins, working together during team games, and diving deep into small group discussions. These are the moments where real friendships are formed, and it’s amazing to see students from all walks of life connect in such meaningful ways. One of my favorite parts of the weekend is what we call ‘Say So’ on Sunday morning. This is a

time when students get to stand up and share how God showed up for them during the weekend. We hear things like, ‘I came here feeling lonely, but now I’ve made friends who make me feel seen.’ Hearing their stories is so moving. Last year, one student talked about letting go of the fear of hiding their mistakes from God and discovering the freedom He offers. These raw, honest testimonies are such a beautiful way to close out the weekend.

Over the years, we’ve added some really exciting elements to D-Now. We’ve got great worship, all-group games, sports tournaments, and some truly unforgettable activities. It’s become more than just a weekend; it’s a chance to unplug from the everyday and focus on growing deeper in

faith while having an absolute blast. As someone who’s seen D-Now evolve and touch so many lives, I can’t wait to see what God is going to do this year through Full Send. I’m so grateful to be part of something that brings together kids from all nations and creates a space where everyone feels welcome and valued. Spots are limited, so make sure to sign up early! Head over to blueskykenya.org/d-now for all the details and to register. Don’t miss out on what promises to be a life-changing weekend.

We can't wait to see you there!
