Overview:
The Vision of BlueSky Global Ministries is to see the multinational community in Nairobi, Kenya, spiritually transformed and equipped to influence the world for God’s glory. We build relationships through adventure through three main avenues in Nairobi, Kenya: Camp BlueSky, BlueSky Adventures, and BlueSky Community. The Spiritual Life Coordinator (SLC) serves on the Camp BlueSky summer team providing spiritual care and teaching for both staff and campers. This position reports directly to the Camp BlueSky Managing Director.
Responsibilities:
Commitment to the BlueSky Vision: Purpose, Mission, and Core Values
Design, deliver, and evaluate camp program for BlueSky target audience, focusing on continuous improvements
Lead the full-time and summer core team as they implement the program/content
Create and manage annual budget to ensure year-after-year growth
Aid in staff recruitment, influencing BSG U.S.-based efforts and leading East Africa-based efforts, and make final hiring decisions
Further develop and implement pre-camp training program with Staff Care Manager
Develop curriculum for camp using a Biblical theme and inform staff discipleship plan
Provide spiritual leadership for camp staff
Create/develop year-round opportunities to work with students and families in a camp setting, expanding Family Camp and Adventure Camp experiences
Ensure camp programs are carried out in a professional manner and according to global safety standards
Assess and refine camp logistics and processes, such as registration systems
Provide developmental opportunities for core team by investing in the growth of their character, competency, and chemistry
Build community partners throughout Kenya, East Africa, and in the U.S.
Work closely with BlueSky Community team in areas of overlap with student groups
Qualifications:
A self-professing Christ follower, actively involved in a Christian faith community and actively pursuing Christ on a consistent basis.

Heart for the nations with proven spiritual leadership experience
Minimum Bachelor’s degree
Minimum four years camp leadership experience
Experience serving on and leading cross-cultural and diverse teams preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent time management and organization skills
Refined interpersonal skills; highly relational, capable of connecting with others quickly across ages and demographics, and able to work well individually and in a team environment
Ability to manage both small and large groups and provide leadership and direction to supporting personnel
Proficiency in Microsoft and Google programs and willing to learn web-based software, e-learning platforms, and mobile apps
Related certifications such as Wilderness First Aid preferred
